Black Panther: Movie Review

Black Panther is unlike any superhero movie I have ever seen. It elevates superhero movies to a whole other level. It brings superhero cinema to new heights, while also telling one of Marvel’s most detailed and absorbing stories. This movie is unlike any superhero movie I have ever seen. From the amazing display of action and scenic views to the outstanding portrayal of Africa and their culture. Black Panther shows girl power in a beautiful way. With having their finest army be all women and showing that women truly run the world. This movie truly portrays black excellence and shows the world a different side of Africa that they really are not exposed to. Black Panther is a superb movie that can be watched by the whole family and will keep you talking for days. It exposes the world to new cultures and girl power. I give Black Panther a 10/10. This is an amazing movie that everyone should get a chance to see. If you have not seen Black Panther I highly recommend you do.

The Case of Timothy Cole

Timothy Cole was a student at Texas Tech University and was wrongly accused of raping. a student at Texas Tech named Michele Mallin in 1985. There was no actual physical evidence suggesting that Timothy Cole could have really raped Michele Mallin. One eyewitness account of one victim was the only thing that made the police arrest Timothy. Timothy Cole had never been in trouble with the law and he didn’t even match the description of the rapist. The rapist was a chain smoker and Timothy had asthma so therefore he couldn’t have been a chain smoker. He just happened to have been working near the place where Michele had been raped, but when Michele identified him as the raper in a photograph, he was arrested just from that evidence. Michele must have mistaken him for the attacker because both men were black. Although several people had said that Timothy was studying in his apartment the time of the rape, the jury found him guiltily and was sentenced to 25 years in prison. Then in 1995, 10 year after the case, an inmate named Jerry Wayne Johnson confessed to the jailhouse, but no action was taken. New DNA tests confirmed that Jerry Wayne Johnson was indeed the rapist. Timothy Cole died in prison due to asthma related problems. Timothy became the first person in Texas permitted a pardon after death.

In Timothy Cole’s case the man that actually  raped Michele Mallin was a chain smoker and accused of raping more than one girl. Cole was never in trouble with the law and never raped a woman before. He had asthma and couldn’t have been a chain smoker because of this. People told the police that while Michele was being raped, Timothy was at his apartment studying, not raping Michele.  Timothy Cole was wrongly accused of raping a woman that he clearly couldn’t have raped and died because of it.

Logan Paul’s “suicide woods” Vlog

On December 31, 2017, Logan Paul uploaded a video that left people with completely and utterly astonished and disgusted. Logan Paul is a 22 year old mega vlogger on YouTube, and has over 15 million subscribers on YouTube. He uploaded a video from his visit into the very famous Aokigahara “suicide forest” near Mount Fuji in Japan. There he found a man who had recently hung himself from a tree, and what happened was just so unbelievable. He showed the mans body and filmed his own reaction to the body. At first, he surprised by what he was witnessing, but then he was starting to get amused by it, almost thought it was funny. The day after this video was posted, social media was blasting Logan for this horrible video. Many celebrities like: Sophia Turner, Aaron Paul, Chrissy Teigen, and many more tore Logan Paul apart for his “suicide woods” video.

Four days after the video was posted, YouTube, which is owned by Google finally responded to Logan Paul’s video and gave him consequences. His channels will be removed from all Google Preferred programs. They will also not feature Paul on the fourth season of a web series called Foursome and his new series’s that was being showed on the streaming platform of the YouTube Red is being put on hold. YouTube has also suspended Logan Paul from uploading any more videos on YouTube, deleted his woods video, and have deleted all of his previous videos, along with his YouTube channel.

Economy in the Northern Colonies

The Northern colonies had a very strong and efficient economic system. They had several different cash crops that could be produced year round. They also produced livestock.

 

The main cash crops the North produced was livestock, wheat, corn, fishing and lumbering. The middle colonies mainly produced the livestock, wheat, and corn. The livestock they had was mainly cattle and hogs. The New England region mainly produced the fishes and lumber. To produce these cash crops it was much less work then to produce crops like tobacco and cotton in the South. The slaves weren’t as tired and warn out as much as the slaves in the South. This lead to the slaves working more efficiently and getting more work done.

 

The northern colonies economic system was mainly focused on manufacturing and trading. The merchants in the North built ships that later transported the harvests in the South. Merchants became a powerful group of people in the North. The North has more advanced machinery than in the South. They had light machinery and had a very advanced production of textiles through the machines. The New England region and middle colonies would grind wheat, harvest fish, and saw. The vast growth in trade lead to the production of large port cities in the North like Philadelphia, New York, and Boston. Philadelphia was the second largest city in the British empire. Trading was a big influence in the Northern economy as well. The North had a lot of water ways and the Atlantic Ocean. This was a huge benefit to them because it was easy access to trade with European countries, especially Great Britain. The Northern trading posts allowed profitable plantations owners to shop their goods directly to the European countries and the Northern colonies. Economy in the North was way more efficient than in the South.

My Little Sister Janelle

My little Janelle was born on October 10, 2012 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, the same hospital I was born in. She was born as Janelle Tatenda Ruffen and weighed 6 lbs. She was supposed to be born on Halloween, but she was too anxious to see us all that she came 21 days earlier. The day she was born I was in the middle of dance class and the owner of my dance school came into my class to tell me my dad was there to pick me up to go see my little sister. My mom went to a doctors appointment at the hospital her water had broken and she didn’t even know. Thank God that she had a doctors appointment becuase if not poor Janelle would have run out of water. I was so excited because I always wanted a little sister and hated being an only child. When I held her I couldn’t help but smile she was the cutest little thing I had ever seen and would be able to see her every day! Janelle is such a happy baby and so energetic. A little after she was born we found out that she had really bad eczema and had to put special medicine on her, but now her skin is as smooth as ever and doesn’t hurt her anymore.

The picture above shows a picture of little Janelle at Richardsons for her very first time golfing. This was taken on August 16, 2014. She was 21 months and was already a natural in front of the camera. Janelle and I had matching shoes that day, which is just the cutest thing ever. She had a great time that day and it wasn’t until later on that we would soon realize that she was a pro at miniature golf.

The picture above was taken when Janelle was 2 years old. This was taken on August 1, 2015. We were at Faneuil Hall and watching some people break dance mixed in with some comedy. It was me, Janelle, my mom, my dad, and Christina. We passed by one of those people who make balloons, and of course she wanted the one with Elsa on it because that was the princess every Disney loving little girl was obsessed with. I remember when I first showed the movie to her(huge mistake by the way) she would not watch anything else. We would have Frozen on replay every day, all day.

In the picture above Janelle was 3 years old and it was taken at Story Land in Bartlett, New Hempshire. We went on vacation to New Hemisphere and stayed in North Conway. We went to Story Land and Clark’s Trading Post and we had so much fun.

The picture above was taken at Hersey Park on July 17, 2017 with the one and only rolo chocolate bar. At Hershey Park we had so much fun, and this was second time that we had gone there. The first time Janelle was younger and was too scared to go on the rides. When we went this summer she was older and eager to go on all the rides with me and by herself. My dad and I went on a little kids roller coaster with her and she loved (made us go on twice). She drove a little car by herself, went on tilt a twirl with my dad and I (didn’t like that one very much). She loved Hershey Park so much and wants to go back soon.

The picture above was taken on February 26, 2017. This picture of her was too cute she was ready for the camera and is so photogenic. She is not afraid to strike a pose whenever, wherever. Janelle is currently doing Gymnastics at Bakers and loves it so much. She is a natural at it and from the time she could walk she would always try to do flips and pretend to be a gymnast. She loved watching the Olympics and her two favorite gymnasts Gabby Douglas and Simone Biles. She also loves singing and making uo her own songs. She loves Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, and Ariana Grande. Her favorite song right now is “Friends” by Justin Bieber.
